+A Debreceni  Kossuth Lajos Tudomány Egyetemen 1971-ben  matematika szakon diplomázott, 1974-1975 között kutató a  Nemzetközi Banach Intézetben Varsóban. 1978-ban szerzett PhD-t. 1973-78 között a SZTAKI szoftver-csoportvezetője, majd 1984-ig tudományos munkatársa. 1984-1988 között az MTA SZTAKI keretei között folytatott kutatásai mellett, az Észak-Karolinai Egyetem oktatója, majd 1991-ig az Eötvös Loránd Tudományegyetem docense volt. 1991-től 1998-ig az Illinois State University (ISU) szakfelelőse. Az ISU Telekommunikációs Tanácsadó Testületének elnöke, az International Journal on Advances in Networks and Service főszerkesztője. 2005-ben Fulbright támogatással kutatóévét Magyarországon, az Eötvös Loránd Tudományegyetemen és a Kossuth Lajos Tudományegyetemen töltötte.
